About The Artist

Born in Nagano Prefecture in 1960, Senyo Takashima is a calligrapher who has been awarded by Nitten, Japan's most respected art institution. Combining lively brushwork with softer brush strokes, she depicts single Chinese characters which project a strong desire for peace and well-being.
