Righteous Oaks
0.0 x 0.0
Pastel on Paper, 12.5”w. x 19.5”h., 2004 This is in Powder Canyon, California where I saw a live oak that died years ago. You can see how it once stretched its branches, now charcoaled by fire, like arms lifted to the heavens. Then I saw a small live oak with the root of the old live oak encircling it as if in a protective gesture. It grows feeding on the decay of the old tree so that it can grow up to extend it branches into the air, as an "Oak of Righteousness.” Isaiah 61:3
