About The Artist


Ruth was born in Detroit Mi. and comes from an artistic family. Her great grandfather, grandfather and mother were professional artists. She has been creating art since her first memories and has continued throughout her life. Ruth has experimented with many mediums including pottery, oil painting, jewelry making, weaving, book making, printmaking, life drawing, and watercolor. Ruth holds a bachelor of science in nursing and almost comple1ted a degree in fine arts while working and raising two daughters. Since retiring from Nursing for 35 years she has been creating art full time. Currently working as a full time printmaker, she has been accepted to exhibitions in the United States and abroad. Ruth's art reflects her love of nature and the outdoors; her interests include hiking, camping, scuba diving and traveling. Nearly all her prints showcase her passion for her love of animals, the outdoors and her unique sense of humor. She has always used her art to give back to the community, including classes at local nursing homes and volunteering at the Outreach studio, and has donated numerous prints to non-profit organizations and art materials to schools in need. She joined The Baren art group and help raise money for Japan after the Tohoku devastating tsunami. She Loves to use her time to help her community and the world, a better and more beautiful place.
