The 2020 IPA “Best of Show” Exhibition includes a special curated selection of winning images by esteemed photography curator, editor and publisher, Anne Morin. Sharing some of her thoughts on her selection, she said: “Bringing together photographs in the form of an exhibition is above all to give free rein to one’s sensitivity, and it is this sensitivity that makes a certain typology visible and creates a clearly defined order and logic. An exhibition contains its own dialectical movements, which together tell a story. I conceived this “Best of Show” exhibition as an exquisite corpse, this literary game invented by the Surrealists at the beginning of the 20th century, and of which Georges Bataille will say “it is the most perfect illustration of the spirit.” The works move the viewer on a primal, deep level, the emotions and stories conveyed by the images are nothing short of extraordinary
