North West Territories – The Mountain Avens or Dryas Octopetala was adopted as the official flower of the N.W.T. in 1957. It is a small arctic-alpine flowering plant. The 8 white petals surround a golden centre of stigma and anthers. The Mountain Avens are also the national flower of Iceland.
