Colors forms and shadows
juan murcia
Although I have traveled far and wide, I have found that there is beauty right where I am. Our eyes are designed to look in a linear field, with a 180 degree view, but when we change this perspective, we discover that the world is not flat, nor limited. When I began to filter reality through the lens of my newfound perception, I found colors, shapes, and shadows that made me rethink my surroundings, perceiving images as separate ecosystems, which enclosed a universe of their own. In my work I bring to light the contrast between ugliness and beauty, lights and shadows, shapes and figures, revealing the uniqueness of the city in which I live. My photography shows that our narrow human vision can be expanded to uncover new worlds within.
