About The Artist
Mary Olivanti-Duerksen is a nonbinary performance, visual and sound poet whose work seeks to discover new intersections of language, symbol and art. They focus on identity and status, especially challenging the norms of gender, politics and justice.
They have been published in The Crambo, Clamor, Light, Space and Time Online art competitions and by Burrow Press. Working frequently in English, Spanish and Portuguese, Olivanti-Duerksen has performed in venues in the USA as well as Argentina and Brazil. Olivanti-Duerksen holds the MFA of the Americas in Creative Writing from Stetson University
