About The Artist
My work reflects my daily surroundings: the people I meet, the experiences I have and the different moods I have. Sometimes I base a work on one of my photographs, but generally I simply begin, an initial quirky idea being followed by hours of joyful play and experiment. I explore new and sometimes unusual colour combinations, and my Asperger autism lets me feel independence of affirmation and flattery – instead, I pursue my personal sense of beauty and style, feeling deeply content and excited at the same time.
I usually work in acrylics or other water media, and in collage, but sometimes I also work in the form of assemblages and sculptures. My titles mostly come from headlines I see in a newspaper, which I then match to an artwork.
I was born in Germany and moved to Canada in 2003, live and work in North Vancouver, British Columbia.
