About The Artist

Ryan Groot was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba and spent most of his first 20 or so years traveling across the country camping, working and going to school which helped form his love for painting and art. Since 2001 Ryan has lived in Calgary, Alberta, where he met his wife Kristy and has been happily married since 2005. Ryan enjoys working in various mediums including acrylic, oil, graphite, pastel and ink pen. Rather than limiting himself to one or two styles, he tries to reflect his experiences through choosing the best medium and style for what he's trying to say. Ryan works from his home-based studio, where his goal is to represent his surroundings and experiences through art.
