About The Artist

*Born 1951in Hillerød, Denmark Per Christoffersen has a degree in education from Hjørring Seminarium, Denmark, 1976, where he earned highest grades in his art major. Per Christoffersen is a self-taught artist. In 2007 he stopped teaching and has since worked full time as a professional artist. The motives for his work have primarily been found in nature, although he does not reproduce typical countryside scenes. Elements from nature, for example trees, stones and bushes express through his paintings a search for the true soul of nature and are often rich in symbols. Recently Per Christoffersen’s elements have taken on a surrealistic appearance. Apart from these genre paintings Per Christoffersen has also produced several series of paintings with elements from city life as subject. Per Christoffersen has often shown his work in Denmark and other countries but this is the first time they have been exhibited in Sweden. In addition to showings in Danish galleries and art societies he has exhibited at: • The Censured Spring Exhibit, Hillerød, 2010 • Florence Biennale 2009, Italy • Barcelona Show Case 2010, Spain • Marzia Frozen, Germany • Chianciano International Art Award 2012 • Received: The Leonardo Award, 2’prize • London Art Biennale 2013-03-20 Received: Special Mention for Excellence
