About The Artist
About Sam and his art…
Sam Jones IV works predominantly in mixed-media, most recently combining
wood, gold and resin to create multi-dimensional engravings. Influenced by line
and composition from an early age, he has worked for years to refine his visual and
conceptual vocabulary through his focus on the intersection between light, depth and
form.
Jones has studied art at Sam Houston State University, the University of Houston, The
Glassell Studio School and life drawing at the Austin Visual Arts Association. He has
shown in Santa Fe, NM at McLarry Modern Gallery, at Kirchman Gallery in Texas and
Lovetts Gallery in Tulsa, OK.
Jones’s work can be found in myriad of public and private art collections both in the
United States and abroad. He currently lives and works in Jonesboro, Arkansas.
