About The Artist

I am a self-taught artist.  I have been drawing since childhood; if it stood still, I would draw it!  My first love of art is black and white because of the detail I can incorporate into a piece.  We moved to Naples, FL several years ago and that is when I began my love of color.  One cannot live in Florida and ignore the abundance of color.  While in Florida my paintings were displayed in a gallery in Ft. Myers, Florida.  This was fairly short lived as we decided to move back to Kansas where I joined the Lawrence Art Guild and have had my work shown:      1109 Gallery, downtown Lawrence, KS      New City Café, Topeka, KS Buttonwood Gallery, Kansas City, MO “Eyesolation” received an honorable mention in the contemporary show;      Buttonwood Gallery, Kansas City, MO          "Jazz Piano II" received 2nd place from the jury and won Patron's Choice Feb-May, 2016          “Naked Oak With Her Fall Wardrobe” won Best of Show)          Friends of Animals Show, June-July, 2013      Aaron Douglas Art Fair, 2010, 2011, Topeka      Art in the Park, 2011, Lawrence      Bizarre Bazaar, 2010, Lawrence      Lawrence Art Guild Holiday Art Show, 2010, 2011      Featured artist at Two Wolves Gallery in North Topeka, KS      Riverfront Station Gallery, Topeka, KS      David Jones Gallery, Kansas City, MO      Upstage Gallery, Topeka, KS, featured artist for 2013 month of March      Ramada Inn Gallery Space, Topeka, featured artist for June, 2013 We are back in Florida living in Vero Beach and I am once again active with the local art scene. I do quite a lot of commission work.  It is difficult for me to communicate what I enjoy the most…I love it all.   I will always love my base art of black and white and continue to experiment with various mediums.  I have many works in acrylic, pastels, pencil, and chalk. My work goes from the abstract to the extremely detailed.  I am never bored!  I hope you enjoy!
