About The Artist

About the Artist Ellen Babin is an award winning landscape "artist member" of the Cape Cod Art Association in Barnstable MA. Specializing in acrylics, her subjects include the beaches of Cape Cod, and the mountains, wilderness trails, and streams of the Adirondacks. Ellen was raised in Norwalk Connecticut. She started her artistic career painting landscapes on handcrafted lamp bases for her father's appliance shop. She later restored antique pottery and painted furniture at a nearby antique store. In high school, Ellen joined the Silvermine Art Guild, a gathering place for artists and students in New Canaan, CT. While pursuing a career as a Physician Assistant, she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in medicine with a minor in Art from Alderson Broaddus College in 1983. A Cape Codder at heart, Ellen moved to Yarmouth Port with her husband and two children in 1989. Recently retired from Medicine she now spends her time fulfilling her passion, painting fulltime.
