About The Artist
I'm a self-taught 3-D Mixed Media / Concept Artist /
Sculptor. I have exhibited as ‘Faces of Humanity’ or simply Dale M Sumner. My
concepts generally start with a life size face cast in plaster and finished in
iron and other metals for patina. My art can take on numerous forms…from freestanding
statues to framed sculptures that hang on the wall. The frames are a key
component and represent the culture of the sculpted character. I’ve used brick,
African mud cloth, frames embellished with bone and henna from Marrakesh,
Edwardian leather and raffia suede leather from Argentina. Current showings
include Redwood Art Shows in the following locations: Art Santa Fe 2022, 2023, 2024 and Art Dallas
2022 along with Spectrum Miami 2023. I have two donated pieces featured as
permanent exhibits. One piece, ‘Loving Earl', is located at the Knoxville
Historical Museum in Tennessee and the other is a very personal piece located
in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. 'Firestorm in Gatlinburg' depicts the aftermath of a
horrific fire where 13 people lost their life. I am available for commissioned artwork.
I live and work in Fort Worth, Texas.
