About The Artist

Jilly Sutton trained as a sculptor at Exeter collage of art She is known for carving large pieces of timber. She finds the warmth of wood and the quality of the grain, together with a veneration of the head as a sculptural form - fires her passion. Working with the vagaries of this organic, still living, nature of the material, and pushing the boundaries of its plasticity, is a constant challenge. Wall mounted work is also part of her ouvre.
