About The Artist


Cecilia Campos Merino was born in La Paz- Bolivia graduated in 1989 with a degree in architecture from the Universidad Mayor de San Andres (University of San Andres). In 1996 she graduated as a visual artist from the Superior School of Fine Arts in the city of La Paz In 2002, she decided, along with her husband, to reside in the United States where both have artistic commissions. In the following years, she painted different themes, including trees, butterflies, and horses. From 2007 to 2012, she made a series of 3D pyramids painted in mixed media with the recurring theme of Nature and its 4 elements. She used symbols such as dead leaves, seeds, fish, and butterfly wings that fall apart to represent environmental deterioration. In the year 2017, she began the series of vases called "Ephemeral", whose message is the protection of life on our planet. Her work is in private collections in Bolivia, the United States, Canada, Denmark, and Hong Kong.
