About The Artist


Snezhina Biserova was born in 1962 in Sofia, Bulgaria. In 1988 she graduated from the National Art Academy in Sofia, with an M.F.A. in printmaking. 1991 - 2017 – she was a lecturer in printmaking at the National School of Fine Arts in Sofia. Since 2006 she has been a lecturer in graphics at the National Art Academy in Sofia, in the Book and Printed Graphics Department. In 2007 she earned a Ph D. in a specialty "Science of Art and Fine Arts" for the needs of the Department of Printmaking at the National Art Academy, Sofia. Since 2020 she has been an Associated Professor at Sofia University “St. Kliment Ochridski”, Faculty of Educational Studies and the Arts, Visual Arts Department. Her academic interests are focused on the teaching of Printmaking and Graphic Design and on research and development of classical and contemporary non-toxic printmaking techniques. Snezhina Biserova wrote and published the book ‘Siligraphy – a waterless surface-printing method’/2007/. Priority area in her work is printmaking and the artist`s book. Up until now, she has participated in numerous national and international group exhibitions and art projects. Snezhina Biserova has realized 14 solo exhibitions in Bulgaria and Poland. She is the recipient of national and international art awards. Her artworks are owned by the public and private collections in Bulgaria and abroad. Since 1991 she has been a member of the Union of Bulgarian Artists, affiliated with the International Association of Art (UNESCO) Awards: 2021 First Prize from the Competition “Primo Premio Arte Grafica Digitale Italiana 21” Senior, Associazione Nazionale Incisori Italiani“APS”- Vigonza (Padua), Italy.
