About The Artist
Originally from Chicago, IL, Terry Havlis Drahos received her Bachelor of Design from Southern Illinois University in 1983. She completed her Bachelor of Education at Acadia and NSCAD Universities (Wolfville and Halifax, NS, respectively) in 2006, specializing in Art and Technology. She lives in Wolfville, NS.
Drahos’ varied involvement in the Nova Scotia arts community includes serving on the Board of Directors of Visual Arts Nova Scotia (VANS) and as the chairperson of the Alliance of Kings Artists (AKA). She initiated and directs the Uncommon Common Art Project and is a frequent contributor to VANS’ Professional Artists in the Schools (PAINTS) program.
Drahos has exhibited nationally, and is the recipient of numerous grants and awards. In 2005-06 she was involved in a group guerrilla sculpture initiative throughout Wolfville. Some solo exhibitions include Drawn by Nature at Harvest Gallery (Wolfville, NS 2012), In Deep at the Craig Gallery (Dartmouth, NS, 2009) and Assumptions at ARTsPLACE (Annapolis Royal, NS, 2007). Drahos’ paintings can be seen at Secord Gallery (Halifax, NS), Harvest Gallery (Wolfville, NS), Flight of Fancy Gallery (Bear River, NS), Koyman Gallery (Ottawa, ON).
