About The Artist
Marina Apartsin was born in 1964 in Russia and lives in Edmonton, Canada.
She graduated with a Bachelor science St. Petersburg University. Her passion to art established the years of classical Russian training that she received at the St. Petersburg Art School. In that time her main painting subject became landscape. French and Russian impressionism, the works of such artists as Monet, Repin and Levitan greatly influenced her interpretation of nature. In 2000 she immigrated to Canada with her family.
Her paintings convey the atmosphere and soul of the place that capture the artist attention. The soleness of nature is expressed by impressionistic spontaneous brush-strokes. Marina’s paintings are also filled with the variety of sharp shapes and rich bold colors. Her main goal as an artist is to create an emotional interaction between the viewer and the painted images.
Marina is taking different workshops to further explore the oil painting technique with Pro’s Art Studio and actively participating in shows throughout the province. She is selling her work privately and publicly including a select number of commissioned paintings. She had number of exhibitions in Russia and Canada.
