About The Artist

Born in Hammersmith, London, Whitechapel moved to Vienna, Austria at age 15 to work as a photographer´s assistant before segueing into film production and direction, interweaving the two worlds ever since. Her childhood obsessions with fantasy and storytelling turned into visual explosions with as much colour, pop and pomp as possible. My portraits are photographic documentaries of my life and the people in it, predominantly women, reflecting feminist ideals or change, usually within an already established context. The concept pieces are tailored to fit a specific person with sourced styling pieces, props and colour palette, before shooting the staged scene in miniscule detail. Each collage is constructed from between 300-2000 single photographs, using natural light and created to be life-sized. www.agathawhitechapel.com Exhibitions: 2015 "15th Annual Members Show", FMOPA - Florida Museum of Photographic Arts, FL, USA 2014 "photovienna", MAK-Museum of Applied Arts, Vienna, Austria 2014 "Fairytales", Galerie Exner, Vienna Austria 2014 "The Professional´s Selfies", West 46, Vienna, Austria 2014 "Wallpaper" Fairytale prints for Holy Moly, Vienna, Austria 2012 "Carnivalesque", Schella Kann, Vienna, Austria 2009 "Make History" Second Edition sponsored by Lee and de Mitri Foundation, Modena, Italy Public Collection: Das Rund, Vienna, Austria Selected Private Collections: Maria Klupp, Vienna, Austria Patricia Pederzolli, Vienna, Austria Jürgen Hirzberger, Vienna, Austria Youssef Nassef, London, UK
