About The Artist
Abbie Kozik’s respect for the acrylics with which she paints is central to the layering technique alive in her paintings. She explains, “I hate to waste paint. When I’m done with a color, I scrape off paint from the palette and smear it on another canvas. Right then, another painting develops.”
As much as technique and the economizing of paint, Ms. Kozik enjoys it when viewers discover their favorite color and textures that emerge in geometric shapes and representations of natural phenomena, the beauty of a theme, and the contradictions inherent in our world around us.
An award-winning graphic designer, Abbie is originally from Honolulu HI. She resides and makes art in Denver CO.
