About The Artist


Megan Lawlor is an American artist originally from Manasquan, NJ. She began drawing and painting as a child and had her first formal painting lessons with renowned landscape artist Ted Goerschner, N.A. (1933-2012). Megan studied Fashion Illustration at Moore College of Art and Design in Philadelphia, PA where she received exceptional instruction in classical figure drawing under the tutelage of Jack Henderson, N.A. (1931-1998). She continued her studies in painting and drawing the figure, portrait and landscape at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts. Megan's recent honors and awards include Selected Artist for the 2018 Portrait Society of America / Cecilia Beaux Mentoring Program and a First Place and PSC Medal from juror Nelson Shanks (1937-2015), at the Philadelphia Sketch Club. In addition to her portrait and studio work Megan frequently participates annually in juried Plein Air events and Quick Draws including Bucks County Plein Air, Brandywine Valley Plein Air, Castine Plein Air Festival, Chadds Ford Historical Society Plein Air, Lambertville Historical Society Plein Air, Farm to Table Plein Air/Brandywine Conservancy, Plein Air Easton and more. Her work is in private collections and has been exhibited in galleries throughout the Mid-Atlantic region. She is a member of the American Impressionist Society, American Women Artists, Portrait Society of America, Cecilia Beaux Forum, Mid Atlantic Plein Air Painters Association, Moore College of Art and Design Alumni Association and the Fellowship of the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts.
