About The Artist
Rebecca Kane is visual artist from New York City. She maintains a studio in Greenwich Village where she creates vibrant abstract expressionist paintings, collage, and sculpture. For over 10 years she has built a varied body of work that consistently explores bright color fields, overlapping layers, and the fantasy of abstraction. Known for building up cumulative layers of non-representational painting, the paintings evolve in stages and by their completion are studies in organic and coincidental detailing. The bright colors either convey calm of chaos, depending on the setting around her at the work’s conception. She has studied with Larry Poons at the Art Students League of New York and with Maurizio Pellegrin at the National Academy School of Fine Art. Rebecca exhibits internationally at museums, galleries and art fairs, and her work is held in private collections throughout the world.
