About The Artist


Born and raised in Manhattan Beach, California, James was inspired at an early age to cultivate his artistic abilities. His talent and reputation grew quickly from high school, winning awards and selling his first painting by age 18. After extensive traveling and surfing throughout the Pacific, James gained a deep appreciation and love of the ocean and it’s incredible coastlines. After studying at Otis Art Institute he ultimately received his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Visual Communications from California State University, Long Beach. For many years James was a successful Art Director, and today still freelances as well as runs his own mural and decorative arts business, Parkhurst Artworks. Today James continues to gain worldwide recognition for his paintings.
