About The Artist

I find that exploring art using a creative view, allows you to not be bound by painting just what you see. Imagination, and envisioning the wonders of the world, is limitless, and allows you to express yourself. Raised in several countries in Europe, her mind is a palette of snapshots and collected memories, full of color. “Memories are the one item that doesn't have to be left behind because it wouldn't fit into a suitcase”. Ehlers is an award winning and well published artist, and holds a BFA in commercial textile design from F.I.T. She is active as an avid arts advocate for charities, youth, and city art programs. She tirelessly champions artists in local communities, and enriches their lives in the process by bringing art together with people so they can appreciate the value of art in their lives. Ehlers formed The Stardust Arts, which broke ground in 2009 and has since instructed over 11,500 undeserved students. She is recognized by the State Assembly of California and the San Diego Board of Supervisors for her commitments to art in local cities, and curates three local galleries, one of which is Jazzercise, Inc., in Carlsbad. She has painted for the United Nations (UNESCO), Paris, FR; Gator on the Bay, LA; TICA, internationally; Cure for Cancer, Maui, HI; the Ocean Agency, CA.; and has a wine manufactured using her artwork as labels in Canada. Always on the go, she is on several boards for numerous non-profit boards advocating for the art. Visit her website at https://cherylehlersart.com/index.html, 760-519-1551.
