About The Artist

Sandi was born and raised in the Queensland bush, and now resides in Brisbane. She is a mother, kindergarten teacher and an E.S.L. teacher. She began learning to draw and paint in order to illustrate the children's stories she writes in her spare time, but since discovering her passion for art she has moved her focus to painting. Sandi loves the outdoors and loves to travel, and her work reflects this. Her pieces feature vibrant coloured, quirky subjects with huge eyes and quizzical expressions on their faces created for the sole purpose of stealing a smile from the viewer. Sandi has focused mainly on painting animals, especially emus and chooks, and her colourful fish paintings have caught the eye of many coastal dwellers. Recent trips to Kenya and Argentina have led to the addition of nature's more exotic animals (Giraffes and elephants are favourites), as well as a foray into painting people.
