About The Artist

I have always been deeply interested in the natural world. As a young child I drew and painted plants, animals and forests. I am still searching for graphic representations of the life force in organic structures. I have studied botanical illustration carefully the last 11 years with my tutors, Elizabeth Mancini and Elaine Searle. But I am also intrigued by abstract forms: hence the "Mother Earth" series of huge paintings commenting on our ecological stress and the dilemmas humans face. I graduated from Brescia College in 1990 in Fine Arts and Graphic Design. Since then, I have taken an eclectic number of courses in watercolor, cartoon animation, life drawing, iconography, illustration for children's books and bookmaking. Learning and the search for meaning never ends.
