Artwork Description

Purplecrested Lourie

0.0 x 0.0

These birds are reasonably large at 47 cm. They are not all that easy to see when feeding in a tree, because they blend in very well and move from branch to branch, hopping rather quickly. They appear to be in a terrible rush, till they decide to fly, then exactly the opposite is true. Following a noisy wing flapping to gain altitude, they then glide for a considerable distance before landing in the next tree. In flight one is able to appreciate the beautiful colours, especially the striking crimson primary feathers, as they glide with wings wide open. PRICE $ 1,272.00 unframed Prices include postage within South Africa. Other countries, postage will be quoted obtained for postage or courier as this is excluded in the price.
