In 2008, Mr. Benowitz returned from Cuba on a humanitarian mission where he photographed “Life in Cuba 2008.” This occurred shortly before Hurricanes Gustav and Ike wreaked their havoc on the people of Cuba. His pre-storm photographs have preserved the impoverished state of this beautiful little island on film.
