About The Artist
I was born and raised in Brazil. When I was 18 I lived in England for a while, then went back to Brazil and took my Masters in Applied Linguistics. My husband and I moved to Santa Barbara, CA where my husband took his Masters and PhD in Comparative Literature. My first intent was to pursue my studies on Applied Linguistics at UCSB, but once I was exposed to Art History lessons that I audited and art history classes at SB Museum of Art, my life took a turn and I decided to dedicate myself full time to art. During the time I lived in SB I was also influenced by the art scene in LA, where I spent weekends whenever we had a chance. I have now lived in New Haven, CT for 7 years. I have been able to take painting classes at Yale School of Art and have had some group and solo exhibits in the last 3 years. My last exhibit was in Abrazo Interno Gallery in NYC, where I showed the work I have been doing recently - sheets of dried acrylic paint straight over frame, no canvas being used.
I would be a pleasure for me to be able to come back to the city where it all started.
