The Augmented Sea

"The Augmented Sea, Garden of Eden, The Motherland…" is the full working title of my 1981 Masterpiece. Inspired by the rare Moon-bow that I saw while visiting the Napili coastline on the island of Maui at 4:00 AM. In reality there were lots of resorts, hotels and condos along the stretch of beach where I saw this wonder of nature––I simply chose to eliminate them and faithfully render the vision as it might have been before the advent of modern mass tourism. This 36"x 48" (914 mm x 1220 mm) original oil painting on fine portrait linen was then unveiled at the Kaanapali Resort location of Lahaina Galleries in early 1982 for several months. Later it would become my most successful selling Certified Signed & Numbered Limited Edition which is a legend of epic proportions in it's own right.
