We had a pond just like this or almost and I just wanted to paint an idea of it, a poetic image of it's scimmering secret waters with all the mysterious life born under the surface, like tadpoles, frogs, toads, fireflies with transluscent wings, salamanders with luck and why not a crane come to have a feast.... of course the water lilies are a must
