About The Artist

I am a Montreal based artist who combines a love of painting and fashion to give life to my images. My obsession is with current culture and trend and I like to sprinkle that with a touch of drama. Color originates from elements in nature and when used to decorate the body, it becomes more than a hue, it’s a history. My paintings draw on the symbiotic relationship between fashion and the mundane, exploring the 'un-reality' where excess becomes fashionable and fashion excessive. The surfaces of fashion are used as a means of seduction; they appear highly plasticized, saturated in gloss and permeated by sensuality. To confront oppositions which are common in contemporary fashion advertising, I deconstruct, reconstruct and abstract these surfaces; turning commerce into critique, realism into revelation.
