About The Artist


Ruth is a fine art photographer living in Toronto Canada. She has taken stills for National Film Board documentaries, including ‘A Joy of Singing,’ about Claude Corbeil and Maureen Forrester teaching master voice classes in China, and Canada’s Stratford Festival Theatre’s mounting of three Gilbert and Sullivan operettas. Her photographs have appeared in NFB promotional material as well as Maclean’s and Time magazines. Ruth has exhibited her work in a variety of Toronto out-door and gallery juried venues. Recently photographing performance art - Montréal Burlesque Festivals, promotional stills Toronto Next Stage Theatre. Performance images accepted in the International Contemporary Artists Art Book New York NY juried publication. Most recently shown Galerie MX Montréal for the Fahra Foundation and Hangman Gallery - Hangman7 collective "Art of Burlesque." In film and digital formats, Ruth remains true to her documentary roots capturing images as dictated by the subject and setting with little or no manipulation.
