About The Artist

Born in Shizuoka Prefecture in 1944, Tosho Nagai produces kana calligraphy with a series of poems by Ryokan, a holy man in the Edo Period. She has also visited the Ryokan Memorial Museum in Niigata Prefecture, and continues to create works while tracing the life of Ryokan.
