About The Artist

David Beeri is a 69 years old artist with a thoroughly cosmopolitan heart. He has been painting since 1975 and has had over seventy individual as well as numerous group exhibitions in Western and Eastern European countries, the U.S., Japan, Israel, Canada and China. A considerable number of his works are kept in museums and in various collections. Because of his popularity the communist government together with the leading representatives of the Hungarian Fine Arts decided in 1985 that they exclude David Beeri from society, since he created a unique picturesque world. Thereafter, he had to suffer more and more cruel persecutions and indigency, such that finally, in order to save his own and his family’s life, he had to escape from Hungary… But into whatever hard situation the painter got, he kept on building his art, and finally his special picturesque world has been created wonderfully.
