Easter Lily Cactus Flowers

This is truly a "beauty and the beast" plant. The cactus is covered in thorns and is unattractive. When it get ready to bloom, a long arm grows out the the cactus and a bud forms at the end. The flowers are TOO beautiful! They have petals that look like feathers, so delicate. I wanted to capture the beauty of these flowers in this painting by not painting the cactus. Created in 2010.
