About The Artist

Erin Schroeder was born in Los Angeles, Ca. and Grew up in San Diego. She then sauntered up and down the west coast from San Diego to Portland developing her unique expressions. After 20 years of San Francisco and Oakland, Erin has migrated back home to San Diego. Currently inspired by the Ocean and creating Mermaids in Solana Beach Ca. I paint on Burlap, wood and Canvas My approach is to mash, to juxtapose, to entangle things that normally clash when placed together on a canvas or in reality. .I do it in my mediums by combining acrylic paint with charcoal drawings, ink and watercolor and collage in one piece. I use Acrylic like watercolor. Mixing traditional drawings with unorthodox elements, capturing conflict in my subject matter by merging the fantasy with reality. This is seen in my portfolio as multi-faceted as my life; ranging from the provocative grown up Fine Art to the wild world of Rock -n- Roll then to the Innocence of Children's book Illustration. Erin's art has been nationally published in Direct Art and Churn Magazines.
