Louise Renoir, the mother of four great-grandsons of Pierre- Auguste Renoir, and president of the Renoir Foundation of the Arts, says this about Mario Simic and his paintings: “The artist transmits his sensibility and energy into his work so that each of us are touched in different ways. Mario paints with different states of heart and soul, resulting in various moods and feelings which the collectors sense, much to their delight. Mario Simic executes his paintings with meticulous care and precision. His willingness to express and share his emotions and admiration for nature in his universe of seascapes, landscapes and still life, cannot leave us feeling indifferent”.
When asked how he feels inside his mind and his heart when he paints, Simic replied.”With age, I have learned to be more patient, and at peace with myself. Many times after a painting is completed, I feel that I am only an instrument in the artistic process, allowing the creative energy to flow through me”.
