NYC in Bloom

NYC in Bloom is a series of Archival Pigment Prints that I photographed and manipulated with two very important places to me in mind. Granted the incredible opportunity of growing up in a beautiful rural setting with rolling hills, blooming flowers, and luscious countryside’s, while inhabiting a very urban, chaotic, and fast-paced environment in New York City. Combining both of these places into photographs felt similar to combining the two halves that make me whole, both being so significant to me and who I am. New York is magnetic, challenging, evolving, and inspiring in streets that never sleep, while Virginia is pastoral, rustic, idyllic backwoods that bring peace and tranquility with every passing cloud and blowing breeze. This project embodies the separate parts of me that collide, yet exist peacefully amongst one another, and that is what I hope to translate through these photographs. I hope to evoke emotions in the viewer that feel peaceful and calm, in the midst of utter chaos.
