About The Artist


Schofield, originally from Ronceverte, West Virginia, earned an MFA in Painting in 1979 from the University of South Florida. Since then, she has exhibited her work all over the US in solo and group shows. Her most recent solo exhibitions were at TECO Public Art Gallery in Tampa, Florida; Pakhuis6 Gallery in Rotterdam, The Netherlands; the Turner Center for the Arts in Valdosta, Georgia; and at Opus 39 in St. Augustine, FL. Her work was included in “The Heroic and Sublime: Large-Scale Work by Contemporary Women Artists” an exhibition at the Gulf Coast Museum of Art in Largo, FL and in “Peoples Choice” exhibition at the Polk Museum of Art. She has held faculty appointments at the University of South Florida, South Florida Junior College, the University of Wisconsin in Eau Claire, and at St. Petersburg Junior College. She has lectured extensively; most notably at Jamestown Community College in Olean, NY; Campbellsville College in KY; the Polk Museum of Art in Lakeland; Eau Claire County Public School System in WI; Berkeley Preparatory School in Tampa; Valencia Community College in Orlando; and Hillsborough Community College in Tampa. Schofield’s manipulated photographs have won a 2nd prize award at the Scarfone/Hartley Gallery in Tampa, a 2nd place merit award at the 59th Annual All Florida Juried Competition and Exhibition at the Boca Raton Museum of Art, and two honorable mentions from http://www.artaddiction.net. Her work has also been included in the book Studio Visit, volume fourteen, 2011. Her biography appears in Who's Who in America, Who's Who in the South and Southwest, and Who's Who in American Art.
