About The Artist

My artwork takes a multicultural view of social, cultural, and political issues. In my work, I often paint figure art as a focal point, incorporating into the art objects and symbolism from Japanese culture. Subtle messages are juxtaposed in backgrounds and with artistic expressions. Themes are inspired from global sustainability, to current American political concerns. While I enjoy painting figurative art, I also paint scenic arts, ocean waves, still life, and portraits. I paint with Acrylic and oil on canvas. My most recent art theme is a series of female figures - I concentrated on showcasing feminine beauty, subtle expressions and sensuality. I layered in symbolism with images depicting climate change, global warming concerns. Some with poems to further infuse my vision of cross cultural art. I was born in Tokyo Japan and spent my early years in the Tokyo fashion and arts world, developing a unique style profiling a distinct Pan-Asian perspective. Since moving to the United States years ago, I have assimilated into American culture and have had a long and successful career as a graphic designer, art director and editor-in-chief at ad agency for over two decades. I started painting fine art about 5 years ago and now dedicated my full time in pursuit of fine art painting.
