ROBERT LEE MEJER is Distinguished Professor of Art at Quincy University, where he serves as Art Program Coordinator. He holds a M.F.A. from Miami University of Ohio, a B.S. in Art/Art Education from Ball State University, Muncie, Indiana and signature charter membership in Watercolor U.S.A. Honor Society (WHS)-President 2012-16, Treasurer 2000-04, Board Member 1998-2022, International Society of Experimental Artists- Vice President 2003-04, Nautilus Fellow (ISEA/Master Fellowship), Mid-America Print Council, Board Member 2006-7 (MAPC), signature membership in National Watercolor Society (NWS), Illinois Watercolor Society (IWS-Honorary Member), Missouri Watercolor Society (MOWS-Honorary Member), San Diego Watercolor Society, and in Transparent W/C Society of America (TWSA, Master Status).
Mejer served as a visiting resident faculty member for the Summer Six Art program of Skidmore College, Saratoga Springs, New York since 1982-1996, 2000-2002 and at Arrowmont School of Arts & Crafts 2000. He has presented over 65 one-man exhibitions, and his works have been selected for exhibition in over 500-juried competitions. His watercolors were included in the ISEA/NWS Wales Exchange Exhibition 2013-2014, Shenzhen Watercolor Biennial China 2013-2014 and the Fabriano Aquerelle Exhibition 2016, 17,18, 19 Italy (30 American Invited Watercolorists). His monotypes were also included in a 1978-80 Smithsonian Institution Traveling Show entitled “New American Monotypes.” His work was included in the 1991 & 2001 International Biennial Watercolor Invitational, Parkland Art Gallery, Champaign, Illinois. and the Missouri Watercolor International 2018 Juried Exhibition, Qingdao, China and the MOWS 2020 Juried Exhibition, Barcelona, Spain. He received the James McNeil Whistler-Award of Merit in the 43nd Annual 2019 Juried TWSA exhibition, Kenosha Public Museum, WI. and awarded TWSA-Master Status. His work is included in the 100th NWS, 2020.

Mejer has received a University of Chicago Occasional fellowship, Virginia Center for the Creative Arts and Vermont Studio Center Artist Residencies for painting & printmaking and two Illinois Arts Council chairman’s grants. He was awarded a City of Quincy Arts Award as an individual artist in 1990, recipient of the 1997 Quincy University Service Award, the 1999 Trustees Award for Scholarly Achievement, the 2001 Distinguished Professor Award.
