About The Artist


Canadian artist Simon Morris is the creator of the famous mermaid sculptures "the Emerald Princess" and "Amphitrite" placed underwater in British Columbia and Grand Cayman for the enjoyment of scuba divers from around the world. Simon created these and many more bronze sculptures of whales, octopus, and manatees, technical divers, oceanic mythology and major figurative commissions and public installations, including "Tradition", shown in the profile picture to your left. This life-size bronze of a a father and son at the helm of a schooner was commissioned by the Government of Grand Cayman and unveiled in Georgetown in May of 2004 by HRH Prince Edward to commemorate the 500th anniversary of the discovery of the Cayman Islands by Columbus. Every piece is hand cast in the United States, using the ancient 'Cire Perdue' or 'Lost Wax' method, in strictly signed and numbered Limited Edition release.
