About The Artist

Stig-Ove Sivertsen works mainly in watercolors, often in large formats. The expression ranges from the purely figurative to abstract shapes and landscapes. The images are often made through an expressive path that starts in a kind of thoughtless flow, where one choice leads to another. Composition and design, use of pigments and water is often characterized by unrest and violations of ”established watercolor techniques”. The goal is to create an impression of a raw and almost random expression in the finished painting. Things are similar, but not quite...
