About The Artist

Kyle Szpyrka is a 27-year-old artist living in Brooklyn NY. Originally from the small town of Thompson, CT he knew from an early age of about 4 years old that he wanted to be an artist. This was the age his father gave him his very first paint brush, an old shop brush from his garage; something to play with while his brothers were away at school. And play he did. Kyle often found himself pretending to paint on all the surfaces of his childhood home... doors, walls, windows... always a desire to paint even when there was no paint to be had. This desire remained with him throughout his early education where upon graduating the Thompson school systems Kyle relocated to Albany, NY to obtain a BFA degree in painting and sculpture from The College of Saint Rose, waiting/bussing tables, bartending and working as a builder to get through school. After graduating in 2010, Kyle moved to The Big Apple, NYC, to further pursue his passion. A year spent working with special needs students in an elementary school proved very rewarding, but only further solidified his need to follow his dream. And so he returned to waiting tables, affording him the opportunity to give himself to his artistic endeavors. After 5 years of searching, finding his voice as an artist, and developing a style and body of work all his own Kyle has celebrated the beginning of his career as a showing artist with his very first NYC solo exhibition this past March and greatly looks forward to making a life long career out of creating, showing, and inspiring. www.kszpyrka.com #spiritualrenaissance
