Please contact PortraitArtistOfTheStars.com About the artist: My nickname is P.J. I am a Choctaw Indian. As a child my mother and father used to travel back and forth from Orange County, California to our "Indian Property" in Lindsey, Oklahoma, (in the time of my mother, she and other American Indians were each given 200 acres of land, from the U.S. Government, in lieu of the atrocities committed on them), via Route 66. The wonderful sights and adventures we had on this "Mother Road" were amazing! Everything from exhibits of life sized dinosaurs to the largest ball of twine, were along this fabulous route. I started painting portraits when I was 11 years old. I love to paint! My neighbors, friends and classmates were my subjects. Through the years I have always painted, portraits, of Elvis, Jim Morrison, David Bowie, I had my own garage rock band too, so I love stars, I've always wanted to be one!! I have traveled Route 66 and I lived on Route 66 for over 30 years, thus the name of my business, route 66 fine art. Recently I moved from my home in Saint Louis, MO back to California. From one end of Route 66 - Chicago to the other end of Route 66 - Santa Monica. I absolutely love the beach, so I am finally, back home at last! The nature of my work varies from time to time, but it almost always involves other humans. I love realism. I love drawing eyes. Capturing the sparkle in someone's eyes is exhilarating, and truly brings life to the subject. I love creating a perfect smile and one exists in each of us, just waiting to be revealed. The joy of watching a face form under my direction is immeasurable, and perfecting a graphic design image to the smallest detail is my passion! I believe that God leads my brushes, often times I feel I am making a mistake, but He guides my hand and it comes out wonderfully! I am so impressed by what God allows me to do. I Praise Him for that and the billions of other Blessings After 20 years in Saint Louis, having a venue at Market on the Loop across the street from Fats Domino's place Blueberry Hill, and several exhibitions, such as Venus Envy STL, Naughty Gras at the Mardi Gras STL, I was compelled to move back to Southern California, expand my business Route 66 Fine Art to include the division, Portrait Artist Of The Stars. Specializing in custom artwork for Home Theaters and Media Rooms! I had my first CA art show, since my return, June 2014, at the Warehouse of Contemporary Art, Anaheim 3/14/15, and now another fabulous show at the Chocolate & Art Show at KGB Studios, LA, CA 6/5 & 6/6/15 what a successful show! On 6/27/15 had a great exhibit at the Newport Dunes Waterfront Resort's Newport Beach Party! My dream would be to own an art gallery in which I could help aspiring artists, by giving them a venue to exhibit and sell their works on consignment, also allowing me the opportunity to have a great place to work and sell my own creations!
