About The Artist

My name is Mingyang Sun, a non-conventional photographer. I frequently have crazy dreams, and over the years I found my channel to connect an illusional world to reality. My passion and dream started to connect through photography back in 2009. From then, I fell in love with this art. I am one of those few rebels who would live just for my own dream. Picked up first camera 4 years ago, I have gone through the path of most self-taught photographers: from shooting almost everything and anything to gradually focusing on one niché, which is creative portraiture. My portrait photography has a sense of darkness, mystery and surrealism and these photos project my interpretation of an illusionary, dreamy world inside of me. I combine solid photography techniques with creative Photoshop processing to create art pieces that are different from others. I believe creativity is one of the most precious gifts of human being, and I intend to, do the best I can to flourish this gift in my own words. The core of my photography is the pursuit of contrast; contrast of color and light, contrast of content. I believe the world is made up of a perfect blend of opposite elements. When they blend properly, magic will happen and the result will be stunning.
